As sponsored by Borders:

This is a fascinating interview, full of insights into the evolution of Pat Conroy, writer (I especially like his take on Gone with the Wind).

  1. What a fascinating man. I can't believe I still haven't read Conroy yet.

  2. Kathleen, you have so much to look forward to...grab a copy of "Prince of Tides" and get reading. You'll be glad that you did.

  3. Sam, Thank You!!!!
I would have missed this if it weren't for you.
I am pitifully behind in my blog reading and playing catch-up today. Nice to be back and reading all your interesting posts. I always end up adding a book or two (or three) when I stop by here.
    Hope you're well!

  4. I love it! I am reading South of Broad right now - I think the only Conroy I have yet to read is Beach Music. Prince of Tides or The Great Santini are great places to start, Kathleen! Oh - The Water is Wide is a great memoir of his as well.

  5. I really want this book...next time I see it, it's mine! Writers like Conroy and McMurtry that discuss reading even more than writing have my utmost respect.

Don't Jon Voight and Pat Conroy resemble each other more and more each day? lol

  6. Great to hear from you again, Kaye. Like you, I'm down to "Beach Music" as the only Conroy I haven't already read. I have that one penciled in for this spring, so after that I'll have to look forward to Pat's new memoir about his relationship with his father. I think that one comes out this fall.

  7. Pageby, it really is hard to choose just one Conroy book to recommend, isn't it?
