Looks like there's another new Jane Austen movie coming out in February 2020, but that's not really why I'm sharing this new trailer for Emma today.
What really caught my attention is how cleverly this particular trailer is edited, and just generally so well done that I would now love to see the movie itself. It perfectly captures the sense-of-humor on display in the novel and leads me to believe that this one could really be fun. What do you think?
I absolutely agree--I smiled throughout the trailer.
ReplyDeleteThe way this one is edited together, especially the last half, is just brilliant.
DeleteIt does look like fun. But then I'm a sucker for a good Jane Austen movie. :)
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed most of them, Lark. Sometimes they do get a little too "romance novel cover" style for me though...you know the ones I mean. :-)
DeleteIt is possible that I am the only person who doesn't care for Jane Austen - books or movies of her books. I know, weird!
ReplyDeleteNot at all, Nan. I feel the same way when I tell people how much I dislike everything about the Hobbit trilogy. People look at me like I'm nuts. Same with Harry Potter. We can't help who we are. :-)
DeleteI know how you both feel because I'm the only person I know who can't stand Jane Eyre. ;D
DeleteI think a question about classics or bestsellers you absolutely hate would make an interesting poll question. The only problem is that you might get 20 different books from twenty different people and wouldn't reach any kind of majority consensus. But that might prove something in itself, I suppose.
DeleteMe, either, Lark! I spent one whole night writing a paper on that book which I couldn't stand! Oh, and I don't read any fantasy, Tolkien or HP. But I am fascinated with Tolkien the man, and the Inklings. I have three books about them.
DeleteThanks, Nan. The Inklings are something new to me and the group sounds fascinating. Any suggested reading regarding the subject?
DeleteYou're not alone, Nan- I am not a Jane Austen fan either. I do however, really enjoy the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Each to our own!
ReplyDeleteThere you go...
DeleteI really enjoyed the Gwyneth Paltrow version of Emma, but this one looks like lots of fun, too. I hadn't seen the trailer before, so thanks for sharing. It really is well done.
ReplyDeleteI really like the sense of humor that permeates the trailer. That's a great sign for a movie based on Emma.
