It's almost time (October 27-28) for my annual trek to Austin for the Texas Book Festival. I'm just starting to plan my two days there by going over this list of attending/presenting authors and trying to maximize the number of authors I can see in the limited number of sessions you can squeeze into two days. I always come away a little frustrated, so pre-planning is a definite must.
October is one of my favorite months around here because there is also a really good FREE bluegrass festival hosted by the city of Farmers Branch (near Dallas) this month - one weekend prior to the book festival, in fact. I was very disappointed last year that the two events were on the same weekend and, although I was tempted to do one day of each, I decided that would be impossible without driving most of Saturday night. I opted for the book festival but thought all weekend about the music I was missing.
Sounds like an awesome time. I'm jealous!
