Ann Cleeves

Ann Cleeves (born in Herefordshire, England in 1954) is a British writer perhaps best known for her Vera Stanhope and Shetland series of crime novels. Both book series were also made into successful British television series that have now been seen all over the world. Her novels are consistent bestsellers. Awards and honors include the Duncan Lawrie Dagger for her novel Raven Black and the 2017 Cartier Diamond Dagger from the Crime Writers' Association for her long "sustained excellence" in crime fiction writing.
