Reading Inspires Kids
I have no idea where this commercial ever ran. I know that I never saw it on television, but I've run into it several times on the net and wanted to share it with those who haven't seen it yet. It's brilliant in its simplicity.
Ah, Canadian...that explains why I haven't seen it locally, John, but I'm kind of surprised that you haven't seen it up there. It's so well done that I figured it must have had lots of exposure somewhere.
Jenclair & Joy, I've watched it close to a dozen times and still enjoy it. If all commercials were like that one, I wouldn't avoid television as much as I do.
That is so cute... "I long for the toll of the recess bell..." That's great. I have to admit my cynical side got me at first ("children don't write like that," etc.), but the second viewing let the humor point of the commercial sink in. I like it a lot; they should try some similar concepts here in the states.
I watched it again today...I think the teacher's reaction is priceless, especially at the very end when it appears that she is returning the note to the little boy.
It is official, I am soppy.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that great? I think this one is particularly well done.
ReplyDeleteThough I haven't seen it actually aired, it's obviously Canadian (Chapters is the equivalent of your Border stores).
ReplyDeleteI LOVED THIS! Thank you so much for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done!
