Really, Lonesome Dove is all about the relationship between Gus and Call...everything else always comes back to that eventually.

This will be my third read in 35 years...I don't think I want to wait so long between reads anymore. :-)Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-37979012421741157022021-02-26T14:08:43.319-06:002021-02-26T14:08:43.319-06:00It is a perfect taste, maybe not of all the advent...It is a perfect taste, maybe not of all the adventure, but of the characters and humor, and I was grinning as I read it. Maybe is time to reread Lonesome Dove. jenclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046532245054911248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-74042867024945487772021-02-26T12:07:08.931-06:002021-02-26T12:07:08.931-06:00That probably does explain why this theory seems t...That probably does explain why this theory seems to work so often, Cath. I've tested it on about a dozen books so far, and I've only found one that I thought was misrepresented by its ninety-ninth page so badly that I would have tossed it aside if that was all I knew about it. would haver been a terrible mistake.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-31266844347313497482021-02-26T04:11:56.887-06:002021-02-26T04:11:56.887-06:00What an interesting theory. I really will have to ...What an interesting theory. I really will have to check that out. Possibly it stands to reason as 99 pages is often about a quarter or a third of the way through a book when things should be starting to jog along nicely. Although it wouldn't be a third of the way through Lonesome Dove! And I still haven't read that which is a sad thing as I know I would love it. I annoy myself at times.Cathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06371069000185280668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-72487793983854271272021-02-25T16:24:03.901-06:002021-02-25T16:24:03.901-06:00Ha...you're as bad as me.Ha...you're as bad as me.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-48808543820122137492021-02-25T16:22:52.458-06:002021-02-25T16:22:52.458-06:00You know I'm going to have to go open all my b...You know I'm going to have to go open all my books to Page 99 now just to see if this theory holds true. ;DLark https://www.blogger.com/profile/13777891312147377769noreply@blogger.com
