I hate to keep coming back to Stephen King as an example of an author addicted to the sound of his own keyboard keys, but he's the most obvious.

Taking a break from long books while reading a short one or two is, I think, a great way toSam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-66776386271767933362016-06-08T13:31:55.089-05:002016-06-08T13:31:55.089-05:00I do notice my neglect of a long book I've sta...I do notice my neglect of a long book I've started, only to pick up short reads in between. Usually, on a longer read I might start skipping pages toward the end. It really depends on the read.Jacqueline Howetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13522485407848765933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-91299179233692782272016-06-02T08:44:52.545-05:002016-06-02T08:44:52.545-05:00I'm not ready to go cold turkey on the things,...I'm not ready to go cold turkey on the things, but I'm going to make sure that there's a good reason to read them before I start one. Favorite authors are an exception, Elizabeth George being one example. But I've read my last Stephen King doorstop because his books are seriously bloated and boring at times...and I used to read every one of the things anyway.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-10521722137516609942016-06-02T07:58:03.705-05:002016-06-02T07:58:03.705-05:00:) I'm the opposite! That doesn't mean I think every 500-700 page book should be that long. Some books need to edit out not just paragraphs, but pages...and sometimes entire chapters!jenclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046532245054911248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-36036035287679435552016-06-02T07:51:50.956-05:002016-06-02T07:51:50.956-05:00And that march is faster and faster every day, see...And that march is faster and faster every day, seems like, Joan.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-18045589159357783812016-06-02T07:44:53.325-05:002016-06-02T07:44:53.325-05:00I feel exactly like you do. I'm much quicker to decided not to read a book these days. As they say, Time Marches On!joan.kylerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17015342608992682333noreply@blogger.com
