Let me know which camp you ultimately fall into if you get around to it.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-11053967736254946672007-12-03T19:12:00.000-06:002007-12-03T19:12:00.000-06:00I hear you, Elizabeth...I almost gave up on it som...I hear you, Elizabeth...I almost gave up on it somewhere around the 40-page mark because it was really bothering me. I'm glad that I got beyond that point, though, because it did have a payoff for me.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-75715452944700778972007-12-03T19:11:00.000-06:002007-12-03T19:11:00.000-06:00Sorry about that, bybee...I do think, though, that...Sorry about that, bybee...I do think, though, that all of us must share the guilt for enabling each other to enjoy our addiction. :-)

I do hope that you "enjoy" it, if that's the right term at all for this one.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-65185333471068689072007-12-03T19:09:00.000-06:002007-12-03T19:09:00.000-06:00Thanks for the kind words, feline. You know, I have to think that it took some courage on Sebold's part to write this book because surely she knew how likely it was that some critics and readers would attack her because of it. I think you're right...not just anyone could have pulled off something like this.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-91560272175943934472007-12-03T01:27:00.000-06:002007-12-03T01:27:00.000-06:00I've read both of her other books and really enjoy...I've read both of her other books and really enjoyed them. I'm less sure about this one, but I'm sure I'll get around to it. :) I'm a little hesitant, because in the other two, the victims had strangers for attackers. I'm not sure I can handle a mean mom, or a homicidal daughter. You know? Somehow, it's easier to read about random violence.Evahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06703372903532502944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-31994709620864106772007-12-02T12:54:00.000-06:002007-12-02T12:54:00.000-06:00I enjoyed her first book but couldn't get passed t...I enjoyed her first book but couldn't get passed the first chapter in this new one.

Subject matter or character ... not sure what didn't work for me.ELIZABETHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15508304939265970143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-72425011279828653562007-12-01T09:16:00.000-06:002007-12-01T09:16:00.000-06:00The Almost Moon has already shown up over here in ...The Almost Moon has already shown up over here in paperback! I do not think just any author could have pulled off what she did.Literary Felinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13079276242303738719noreply@blogger.com
