As a boy, I did most of my reading at night and I really didn't talk about it with other boys. My summers and spare time were spent playing baseball and other seasonal sports. Of course I spend far more than 18 minutes a day reading. My SIL must have seen something similar to this study, she was watching the Spanish news and they said people in Mexico spend the least time reading.
