I've always found him to be a little intimidating up to now, but I think I'm about ready to tackle one of his books on my own. Unfortunately, the only one I have in the house is a first American edition of The Satanic Verses and I don't think I want to read that one next.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-28016258784835700982007-11-27T14:55:00.000-06:002007-11-27T14:55:00.000-06:00If you are able to get into the rythm of S. Rushdie's prose, the hard part is already over.

I'd recommend Midnight's Children, The Gound Beneath Her Feet, and The Moor's Last Sigh (in that order).

It's a shame he's known so well for the contraversy around The Satanic Verses...sarapcihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01689096774834661145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-31444163556068095192007-11-26T19:21:00.000-06:002007-11-26T19:21:00.000-06:00Wasn't that reader just amazing, Eva?The only fals...Wasn't that reader just amazing, Eva?

The only false note in his accents was when he tried to do Lyndon Johnson. Having grown up not that far from Johnson's birthplace, that particular accent made me laugh when I wasn't supposed to. Other than that, I think he did a remarkable job with his character presentations.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-27105633679558270952007-11-26T10:19:00.000-06:002007-11-26T10:19:00.000-06:00This is my favourite audiobook that I own. I want to read one this time instead of using an audio book so that I can compare the experience.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-88743778714416983222007-11-24T10:13:00.000-06:002007-11-24T10:13:00.000-06:00I really want to read this. But I really do need to get back to it. Rushdie certainly has a unique way of writing!Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05055676171075203563noreply@blogger.com
