It was much more subtle in the first film and that made it seem more natural and believable to me. I haven't found the book locally yet, but I'm sure it's out there on the net somewhere, so that's my next thing to do.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-61769116574511183552015-02-27T04:56:01.596-06:002015-02-27T04:56:01.596-06:00I liked the cast of the 2nd version, but my quibbl...I liked the cast of the 2nd version, but my quibble is that they never quite seemed like they were starving and thirsting to death like they did in the first version. As for the book being in print, I found it about 5 years ago.Bybeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10061186489010154661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-5568737176442218892015-02-21T12:39:57.814-06:002015-02-21T12:39:57.814-06:00My main problem with seeing the movie first is tha...My main problem with seeing the movie first is that I come to the book with preconceived notions about how all the characters look and sound. It doesn't seem to bother me as much when it's the other way around for some reason. It really is a good movie, Jenclair, and I'm glad I found it last night. I was in the mood for a movie from the fifties or sixties and that one was a perfectSam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-87443190740852643722015-02-21T11:04:53.562-06:002015-02-21T11:04:53.562-06:00:) Book, first or film, first. Usually, if I read the book first, I'm disappointed in the film version. What a great cast for this one!jenclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046532245054911248noreply@blogger.com
