For me it was the groundbreaker that really made me into a lifetime fan of well written time travel novels. I started with H.G. Wells, like so many kids did back then, but this one read more "current" and modern to my ear, and it showed me what else might be out there.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-39843861645073465512023-07-01T10:24:11.659-05:002023-07-01T10:24:11.659-05:00Time and Again was recommended to me by an ex-boyf...Time and Again was recommended to me by an ex-boyfriend. I enjoyed the depiction of 19th century New York, and the Dakota. Loved the photos. The casual, innocent chauvinism of our protagonist took me right back to the early 30's, I can recall my father speaking about women this way.
<brSusan Sandershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05589508071251558063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-81060959786241720982012-05-10T22:05:27.339-05:002012-05-10T22:05:27.339-05:00I haven't read any of these. But that is not surprising, considering how high he set the bar with that one, I suppose.

Have you tried his time travel short stories?Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-12301460893359366562012-05-09T19:27:02.261-05:002012-05-09T19:27:02.261-05:00I love time travel too but I've read (several ...I love time travel too but I've read (several times) only the Finney in this list. I think it was just too action-oriented and not enough time travel oriented to suit me. As for King, I have that one in my radar and if I ever get caught up enough in my backlist, that's one of the first ones I plan to pick up.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-18112960352986316092012-05-09T17:39:12.265-05:002012-05-09T17:39:12.265-05:00Will, I very much enjoyed your time travel novel, ...Will, I very much enjoyed your time travel novel, The Prodigal Hour, and it's somewhere in my Top 20 of the genre - and I've been reading those things for over 50 years, so good on you,Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38656633.post-50238631477536077122012-05-08T22:36:53.243-05:002012-05-08T22:36:53.243-05:00I haven't read any of these either.
