Movies for Readers: Papa Hemingway in Cuba

I just got an email from GoodReads telling me that this one is opening in a "theater near me" this weekend.  It is based on a true, but little known, part of Hemingway's life that perfectly fits the man and the "character" he came to be known as.  Definitely a man's man, was Ernest Hemingway.

Unfortunately, I can only find this in three Houston-area theaters and none are within 30 miles of me - and we are expecting another storm late Friday night and Saturday.  But I'm still hoping to catch it at some point because this trailer looks good.

    1. It does, doesn't it? I'm hoping I can get there this weekend but Friday and Saturday are going to be washouts in these parts. They are predicting up to another 8 inches of rain in a 12-hour period. Here we go again.

  2. I'm hoping against hope that this pops up in Sedalia or Warrensburg. Have you heard about Genius, the one about Max Perkins and Thomas Wolfe? Colin Firth and Jude Law! It's all good!!!

    1. The really good movies get such limited release that it's hard to get to them even in Houston because they are usually released nearer the heart of the city than I where I live. I'm a bit shocked to see movies like this one and Genius even getting made, honestly, so I won't complain. If we miss them, maybe they will show up on NetFlix or Amazon Prime someday.
