Coming Soon: It's March Madness for Nerds

It's almost that time of year again.  March Madness for book lovers is just around the corner.

Every year, the Morning News folks hold a book tournament in which pairs of books are matched up for head-to-head competitions that eventually eliminate all but one of the tournament competitors.  These are the "Sweet 16" books that will soon be competing in the 2015 tournament:
I'm caught a little short by this year's list.  Well, actually, I'm caught very short by this one.  I have four of the books in my TBR stack, but all four of them are still on hold at my library, and I'm embarrassed to admit that the other twelve books are barely, if at all, on my radar at this point.  I can't remember ever picking the eventual reader correctly, but I've usually read at least five or six of the top 16 by the time the competition begins.

Well, there's still time to read at least the four that I've ordered up from my county library system...if the library will co-operate, that is.  And maybe another book or two from the remaining dozen can be worked into my schedule before March.

All the details can be found on this Morning News page.  The closer you follow the tournament the more fun it is, so now's the time to get on board, maybe read a few of the books, pick your own favorites, and root them on.

It's March Madness for the nerd in all of us.

  1. The only one I've read is Station Eleven--which I liked. Should probably jot down a few more titles to consider.
