Book Giveaway - The Last Child by John Hart

I've been reading an Advance Readers' Edition of John Hart's latest novel, The Last Child, for the last three days and I plan to post a formal review by the end of the week. Today, though, I got an email from the Books-A-Million folks (source of the ARC) telling me that they are providing me with three autographed copies of the book to give away here on Book Chase.

I've enjoyed the book, finding it hard to put down at times, and I'm now about 80 pages from finishing it - and the plot just took a twist that will make the last 80 pages a real treat. What was shaping up to be a good, solid 4-rated book may have just turned into a solid 5. I can't wait to find out.

If you are a fan of hardcore detective/thriller fiction, this book is for you. Here's your chance to snag not just a free copy of the book (released just today), but an autographed one. I have to tell you, guys, I'm a little jealous.

If you want to be considered for the drawing, get your entries in as soon as you can. Books-A-Million will be ready to start mailing books to the winners pretty quickly. All you have to do is reply to this post with a suggestion as to how I can make this a better lit-blog. All ideas will be considered, but the winners will be picked on a purely random number basis.

Get 'em in, guys.

  1. I thoroughly enjoy your blog. So, I don't what I can offer by way of suggestions for improvement.

Here's an idea I've considered: for books that you like post three suggestions for other books that readers might also enjoy. You know, if you like this book you might also like . . . Then for books that are stinkers give a suggestion for a book for readers to try instead rather than wasting their time on a bad book.

Thanks for a great blog. Keep up the great work!

  5. I love your blog; I have no idea how to make it better. What I want is for you to run a book message board, featuring your blogs, in order to facilitate more discussion.

But, I can understand if you're burned out on message boards. ;)

  6. Sam -- Love your blog. Things I'd love to see would include favorite authors and comparisons of some of your recent reads to past reads.

Also, I see some people have a shelf on their blog with their upcoming reads....I think they get it from Goodreads. You should do that....it would be fun to see.

I'm just trying to come up with something as I really already think your blog is "perfect" and one I enjoy reading.

  8. I like Alissa's suggestion for saying "you might also like these three books."

I can't think of any way to improve your blog maybe to post more reviews. I depend on your opinion a lot.

Don't put me in the drawing, though, because this book is at my library and you know how I am about owning books. I don't want them! (Yes, I know that makes me weird.)

  9. I just stumbeled onto your blog and I must admit that this is my first day reading. However, it is now bookmarked and I am excited to read through more of it.

I have only recently become interested in book blogs, but I am hooked! I have to say that I like the readability of your blog. Some are too cluttered or too colourful, but I think that yours is perfect! Thanks for your time, and my email is below for the contest!
